We Made a Bedtime Story for One Child. Then We Couldn't Stop.

The story of how Personalized You started — and why we believe every child deserves to be the hero of their own adventure.

There's a moment that happens at bedtime that most parents know well.

Your child is tucked in. The room is dark except for the nightlight. You open the book — the one you've read seventeen times — and before you've finished the first sentence, they've already said the next line along with you.

They love the story. But it isn't theirs.

That was the frustration that started all of this. We wanted to give a child a bedtime story where they were the hero. Not a character with a vaguely similar name, not a template with a name dropped into the first paragraph — a story genuinely built around who that child is. Their personality. Their favorite things. The world they actually live in.

So we built it.

The first story we ever made was for a seven-year-old named Emma.

Her mom told us she was obsessed with dragons, hated wearing shoes, and had a best friend named Lily who lived two doors down. We wrote a story where Emma and Lily discovered a small storm dragon living in Emma's backpack, and spent an evening sneaking it back to the mountain where it belonged — barefoot the whole way, obviously.

Emma's mom messaged us afterward. Emma had asked for it three nights in a row. On the fourth night, she asked if the dragon could come back in another story.

That was the moment we knew we were onto something.

What makes a story feel personal isn't just the name.

This is something we learned early. You can drop a child's name into any story and it still won't feel like theirs. What makes it land is the specificity — the detail that only someone who knows them would include.

The fact that she hates shoes. That his best friend's name is Marcus. That she's seven and a half, not seven, and she will absolutely correct you if you get it wrong.

Those are the things we ask for. And those are the things that end up in the story.

Every story we make starts with a short form — name, age, a few things they love, anything special you want included. From there we write an original script from scratch. No templates. No fill-in-the-blank. A real story, built for one child, that no one else in the world will ever receive.

We started with bedtime stories. We're not stopping there.

Since we launched, we've been blown away by the response. Parents have told us their kids carry printed copies around the house. That they've memorized whole sections. That they ask whether the characters are real.

That last one is our favorite.

We're also building personalized guided meditation audio — sessions written around your specific goals and what's weighing on you, narrated and delivered as an MP3. Same idea, different product: something that actually speaks to you, not a generic playlist designed for everyone.

But bedtime stories will always be where we started. There's something about the image of a child falling asleep to a story that's entirely their own — their name, their world, their adventure — that never gets old for us.

If you've been thinking about ordering, now's a good time.

Stories start at $19.99. They're delivered as read-aloud audio within 24 hours. And if your child doesn't ask for it again, full refund — no questions.

We're a small business. Every order matters to us. And we're genuinely excited to make something for your kid.
